The paranormal community has been in a kind of shock. Dan Rivera who was a long time member of NESPR and one of the members traveling with them during the Annabelle tour passed away. I had the opportunity to know Dan and had some fond and not so fond memories of him.
Regardless of your feelings for him. He was still a man, a husband, a father, a brother. Death is something many of us deal with it a lot in the paranormal. So many people want to place blame the media is making a mockery of it all blaming a doll. Whether you believe in the paranormal, a doll did not cause this. This was a coincidence and those of us who look at the paranormal through more than just a sensationalized lenses know this.
So many people coming out of the woodwork trying to use this tragedy for click bait. So many people, many of whom had actually gone and paid to see the doll, are now saying it shouldn’t travel. I don’t think people get it has been traveling safely around for a very long time.
We as a community should be coming together to support Dan’s family at this time. Not trying to make a buck off his death. Hold the memories you have of him close and remember that this tragedy could have easily happened to any of us. How many of us live or lived in a diet of pure caffeine, energy drinks, smokes, and booze. It’s a common occurrence. I can admit I lived that way for a long time. However, a heart attack at 39 taught me to make my health a priority.
Let’s just take the time now to reflect on things in the community. To be kind and even maybe for a small period of time offer some sympathy and support. Do something kind for someone today and stop trying to click bait or make a buck of someone’s death. Or worse blame it on a doll.
